Meet the Artist
I’m Rian. I’ve been painting for four decades, but for a couple of them I was more focused on raising my children and building a career than on expressing myself. Rediscovering what art means to me has been one of the great gifts of this chapter of my life.
Much of this work is inspired by my upbringing in a rural setting, where my grandfather connected me with the pure wonder that exists around is in the natural world. I love exploring the natural textures in the plants and animals around me, and bringing that texture to life in my work.
